Oct 2011, Just minutes before we said “See ya later” for a 7 month deployment to Afghanistan. Curly Q is 3 days old, Little Miss is 19 months old and Little Man is 3.

Welcome to my blog!

As a momma to four (Third grade, First Grade, Kindergarten and preschool) I have had my hands full over the years and I have decided to write this blog as a way to express myself and encourage others who may find themselves in a situation similar to mine. So here I am journalling publicly as a stay at home mom, Unschooling/Charlotte mason hybrid homeschooler, mother of four, Marine Corps spouse and plain old me! As I work through the in’s and out’s of parenting four gifted kiddos, being a stay at home mom/housewife, juggling a budding interest in creative writing, figuring out how to grow in my faith, all while being a supportively active military wife, I pledge to honestly chronicle my ups and downs.

I have struggled with the desire to build a career with the desire to create a loving, learning and supportive environment for my children and family. I actively work towards the goal of growing into a Godly woman who triumphs over struggles with grace and tenacity, even though I sometimes just hobble over them with a pout. I believe that my family was placed into this ever changing lifestyle to foster the patience and flexibility needed to just let go and let God take over. I’m not perfect, I do not pretend that this is easy and I am not alone. If it takes a village to raise a child than I have been placed into a village that is greater than any I could have fabricated. The amazing and inspirational women whom I have been blessed to call Family and Friends from all over the world have helped me get to a point of this journey where I no longer feel overwhelmed by my circumstances. Instead I know that anything is possible through Christ who strengthens me and that while the road may be hard it is filled with random blessings that enrich our lives.

Thank you for joining me as I look for the blessings that surround me.

Update: Retirement! It’s still hard to believe that we are civilians now and that we were able to retire so early. It’s a new adventure that we’ve only recently begun but the blessings that have surrounded us along this journey have been numerous! Lookout, because I will be changing this page soon as we begin facing this whole new world of adventures.
